N.A.I.R.S

This website is maintained by the Nairs Academy of Information, Research and Services (N.A.I.R.S.), an organization registered under the Travancore-Cochin Scientific, Literary and Charitable Act, 1955. The registered office of NAIRS is at “Sahityavedi”, Palkulangara, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 024, Kerala, India.

The aims and objectives of the Academy are to establish an information portal to collect, maintain and disseminate information for the advancement of education, research on various aspects related to the community and other useful subjects in all its manifestations; to co-ordinate the members of the community scattered all over the world for rendering mutual help, rendering meaningful and useful service to the community; etc.

The site covers the  past and untold history of Nairs of Kerala (Malabar), who were the eye, hands and order of the land, the history of the intellectual movement, social and cultural renaissance of the community, its contributions for the uplift of the down-trodden and untouchables, history of legendary and noble Nair families of early days and the present, biography of dignitaries and significant personalities of the past and present, information about the present and past organizations of Nair community      hindu customs, rituals, celebrations, festivals etc.

The Academy has already published  a comprehensive document   in Malayalam, containing the above information, entitled Nair Noottandukaliloode (Nair - Through the Centuries) in a C.D.

The Academy requests all well wishers to kindly co-operate with us and to provide more vital information about the community, famous families, important persons and institutions in and around their vicinity with pictures or photographs, customs and rituals etc. for publication in the website. The Academy assures due acknowledgement to the information providers.
