CHAMPAKKULAM PACHU PILLAI
Born in 1907
Champakulam Pachu Pillai was an eminent Kathakali exponent. Champakulam Pachu Pillai started his studies in Kathakali at the age of 14 under Champakulam Paramu Pillai. After completing a rigorous course, he joined the Mathoor and Thakazhi Kathakali Yogam. Champakulam Pachu Pillai won specialized in the “Thadi” or bearded character roles. The Thakazhi and Mathur troupes accepted him as a member and gave him important. He also excelled as kari or black demon. Champakulam Pachu Pillai was appointed as dancer in the Travancore senior palace troupe in 1939. He continued to act his favourite roles till the age of 84 with the vigour and enthusiasm of his youth. Champakulam Pachu Pillai was honoured with Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award in 1969, Kerala Kalamandalam Award in 1991 and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1983. |

E. Chandrasekharan is a leader of Communist Party in Kasaragode. He held various positions such as Taluk Secretary AIYF Kasaragod (1970), District Secretary AIYF Kannur (1975), Member CPI State Council (1976), Member Chemnadu Grama Panchayat (1979-84), Assistant District Secretary CPI Kasargode (1984), District Secretary CPI (1987), State executive Member CPI (1998), Member CPI State Secretariat (2005-15). He also served as a member Kerala State Rural Development Board (1987-91), Director Board member of Kerala Agro Machineries Corporation (1991-96), He was elected as a member of Kerala Legislative Assembly from Kanhangad Constituency twice in 2011 and 2016. He was the Minister for Revenue in the ministry led by Pinarayi Vijayan and deputy leader of Parliamentary Party. Presently CPI State Executive member and Treasurer.

E.CHANDRASEKHARAN NAIR

E. Chandrasekharan Nair, one of the senior most leaders of CPI, Minister of Kerala, Lawyer, author and a strong advocate of co-operative movement. Having entered active politics at a young age, he had joined Students Congress while at Annamalai University, then joined Indian Socialist Party (ISP) and subsequently the Communist Party in 1952. He was an advocate and practiced till 1970. Chandrasekharan Nair elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly for 6 times and served as the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Housing, Law, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, and Tourism etc. "Maveli Stores", established with a view to make essential commodities available at fair price to the people is one of his unique initiatives. He was the President of Kollam District Co-operative Bank for more than 29 years and had the rare opportunity of getting elected as the Chairman of All India State Co-operative Bank Federation and the Vice-President of National Co-operative Union and member of the Central Committee of the International Co-operative Alliance and member of Agriculture Credit Board of RBI. He had written books such as Kerala Vikasana Mathrukayum Prathisandiyum Parihara Margangalum, Hindu Matham Hinduthwam, Chithariya Ormakal, and Marakatha Ormakal. The book on Hinduism won him the Kerala Sahitya Akademi award. He won R. Sankara Narayanan Thampi award for best Parliamentarian instituted by the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He passed away on 29 November 2017

Full Name is Oyyarathu Chandu Menon. O.Chandu
Menon is the founder of Malayalam novel cult.
He was the author of the Malayalam novel Indu
Lekha, which is termed as the first of
its kind having specific standards. Indulekha was a strong critique of the existing social
situation of the time. Through the novel, he
attacked the conservatism of Namboothiri community,
the feudal system and the Sambandham system
of marriage, which was prevailing at that time.
The second novel of Chandu Menon was Sarada,
published in 1892, was an incomplete one due
to his death, which was completed by several
other authors. He was the Sub Judge at Malabar.
British Government
confered him the title Rao Bahadur.

CHENNITHALA CHELLAPPAN PILLAI.

Mother: Parvathy AmmaChennithala Chellappan Pillai was the teacher of the Kaplingatu (southern) Kathakali School. After his school education, he studied preliminary lessons of Kathakali under the guidance of his grandfather. He had already debuted as Krishna at the age of 15. He excelled kathi, kari, and minukku characters in Kathakali. Chennithala Cheliappan Pillai's performances in various characters were exceptional. He toured widely with the renowned Kathakali troupe of Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) and performed kathakali in various foreign countries. He had won many merit certificates and awards including Kendra Sangeeht Nataka Academy Award in 1991. He passed awsay on 31st October 1998. |

Chithra, is an Indian playback singer and carnatic musician. Chithra also sings Indian classical, devotional, and popular music. She has been singing since more than 3 decades. She has more than 25,000 recorded songs in various Indian languages, including Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tulu, Rajasthani, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Badaga, as well as foreign languages such as Malay, Latin, Arabic, Sinhalese, English and French. She is considered as the one among the "First ladies" of India who was honoured by the President of India.
Chithra is a recipient of six National Film Awards (most by any female singer in India), eight Filmfare Awards South, and 36 different state film awards. She has won all the four south Indian state film awards. She was honored with India's civilian honor Padma Shri in 2005. She is the first Indian woman who was honored by House of Commons, British Parliament, United Kingdom. She is the only singer from India who was honored by the Government of China at the Qinghai International Music and Water Festival. She is the only singer from South India who has received the MTV Video Music. She was also honoured by Mr. Craig Coughlin, Speaker of the General Assembly, New Jersey, United States of America, by Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, and sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah. Her song "Kannalane/Kehna Hi Kya" from the film Bombay (1995) was included in The Guardian's "1000 Songs Everyone Must Hear Before You Die" list.
Chithra received her training in Carnatic music from Dr. K. Omanakutty. She passed B.A. in music with first class and third rank from the University of Kerala, and completed a master's degree in music. She was selected to the National Talent Search Scholarship from the Central Government from 1978 to 1984. Chithra was introduced to Malayalam playback by M. G. Radhakrishnan in 1979 who recorded her voice for films and private albums.
Chithra established the Audiotracs, Music Company in Chennai. She along with Asianet Cable Vision (ACV) launched a fundraising organisation, Sneha Nandana, to raise funds for the welfare of retired musicians who have retired from their music career.

Mother: C.Karthyani Amma C.K.Menon (Cheril Krishna Menon) was an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was the Chairman and Managing Director of Behzad Corporation, headquartered in Doha, Qatar, which has branches in several other countries.
After securing degree in Law Menon started his career lawyer at the High Court of Kerala which he continued for two years before leaving for Qatar, There he established Behzad Corporation, Doha, a fuel transportation company, in 1978, in partnership with Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad, a Qatari citizen. Over the years, he has diversified his business to cover finance, media, steel and infrastructure industries and has presence in many countries in the Middle East, American continent, Europe and in India. Besides heading his flagship company, Behzad Corporation, he was a director of business establishments such as Behzad Fuels (UK) Limited, Infrastructure Kerala Limited (INKEL), a Government of Kerala undertaking, JaiHind TV and Symphony TV and was chairman of Al Barakah Financial Services Limited, the first Islamic non banking finance company in Kerala, promoted by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and TJSV Steel Fabrication and Galvanizing Limited.
Menon, who has been listed as one of the non- resident Indian in the Middle East was also a member of many government constituted bodies. He was the vice chairman of Norka Roots. He was on the board of directors of the India Development Foundation of Overseas Indians, a trust under the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs for promoting and channelising the philanthropic efforts of the non resident Indians. He was a nominated Ex Officio member of the Security Advisory Council to Civil Aviation, (SACCA) Government of India. He has been involved with the Laksham Veedu Project and M. N. Laksham Veedu Restoration Project[15] of the Government of Keralaand donated over 100 houses for the slum dwellers in Thrissur. He was a patron and a major supporter of Adarsh Charitable Trust, of Tripunithura in Kochi, which runs various programs including a school for the mentally challenged children
A recipient of the 2006 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, Menon was also honored by the Government of India by awarding Padma Shri in 2009.
Menon passed away on 1 October 2019.

Sri.CMA Nair is a gifted engineer and an expert in the field of management. Immediately on completion of B. Tech (Electrical) degree from IIT, Madras he joined ALIND Kerala as a Design Engineer. He has also undergone Executive Management Course in INSEAD France. At ALIND, he held different positions such as Technical Manager, Production Manager, Marketing Manager and Divisional Chief Executive of the Switchgear Division etc. He left ALIND in 1988 to join Alstom T&D, Paris, one of the leading manufacturers of electrical equipment in the world, and served the company holding different positions as Vice-President (Global Sourcing), Vice-President (Industrial Strategy). Vice-President (Quality Focus), Vice-President (Change Management). After retirement in 2003, he returned to India to be a member of the Board of Alstom T&D India, a subsidiary of Alstom France. When Alstom was sold to AREVA, another French company, he continued there as a Board Member and Audit committee Member till he resigned from the Board in 2011.
Presently, he is a Trustee Member of Kerala International Centre (KIC) Trivandrum, an organization dealing with subjects of National and International interests like Globalization effects, Energy Security, Food Security, International relations etc. His wife is Meena Devi, Professor (Retd.). Their sons Bhaskar and Madhu, both engineers, are settled in USA
